‘‘To live your greatest life, you must first become a leader within yourself. Take charge of your life, begin attracting and manifesting all that you desire in life.’’— Sonia Ricotti

The Law of Attraction suggests that you can attract positive or negative things into your life through your thoughts and actions. It is based on a theory that everything is made of energy and that the type of energy you send out into the world will come back to you. If you are ready to use the Law of Attraction to tell the world what you want, start by creating a positive mindset. Then work on achieving your goals and dealing with setbacks with a positive attitude.

1. Visualize your dreams coming true.

‘‘Imagination is everything, it is the preview of life’s coming attractions.’’ — Albert Einstein.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself living the life you want. Imagine holding your dream job, showing your talents to an audience, or sitting in your new car. Do this every day to solidify your intentions and bring them closer to becoming a reality.
Always imagine yourself being successful. For example, you might imagine getting a promotion at work instead of imagining yourself doing your usual activities. You don’t just want to have a job, you want to be the best.

2. Focus on what you want.

Don’t think about your old car breaking down all the time, instead imagine yourself driving a nice new car. This allows you to focus on what you want in life rather than the things you don’t want. It sends a message to the universe that you expect good things to happen to you!

It causes you to think about the things you want instead of the things you don’t want. If you think, “I wish my car didn’t break down all the time,” you are still focusing on your old car, not the new one.

For example, you should also think, “I’m studying hard to get good grades” instead of thinking, “I hope I don’t fail my semester!”

3. Use positive words to express your desires.

It is important that you avoid phrases that rely on negative words like “no” or “don’t” to express what you want, such as “I don’t want to lose my job. Similarly, include words that represent what you want to avoid attracting what you don’t want. For example, when you say, “I don’t want to lose,” you send the word “lose,” whereas if you say, “I want to win,” you send the word “win.

Tip: The Law of Attraction suggests that the universe understands the words you use, not the intentions you have. This means that if you say “more debt”, the universe sees “debt”.

4. Express gratitude for what you have.

Appreciating the good things in your life will make you feel better and help you keep a positive frame of mind. State out loud the things that fill you with gratitude or make a list of them in your journal. In addition to this, you should thank people for the good things they bring to your life.

For example, you could write down three things that fill you with gratitude every morning before you get up. This helps you start the day in a good mood.

5. Do meditation for at least five minutes a day.

Stress is a normal part of life, but it’s going to be hard to manage if it becomes too much. Relieve the stress of daily life by doing a short meditation session to relax your body and mind. For a simple meditation exercise, sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Concentrate on your breathing, letting your thoughts come and go.

  • You can find meditation guides online or by using apps like Calm, Headspace or Insight Timer.
  • Meditation can also help you become more aware of your emotional state, which will help you regulate your emotions more effectively.
  • Meditating effectively takes a lot of practice. Strive to do it every day.

6. Replace your worries with positive thoughts. Your worries may be making the things you are trying to avoid happen. When you start to worry, challenge your thoughts by asking yourself what the chances are that they will happen. Then think about what happened in the past when you were worried. Imagine the worst thing that could happen if your worries came true. You may find that it doesn’t really matter in the long run.

  • For example, let’s say you are worried about doing something embarrassing during a presentation. What are the chances that this will actually happen? Has it happened in the past? If it did happen, would it really be a big deal? Will you still be thinking about it a year from now? You will probably find that you are worrying about nothing.
  • It can also be helpful to think about what your life will be like in five or ten years. Will you still be worrying about the things you are worrying about now? Probably not. For example, you might worry about not doing well on an exam, but you won’t worry about that in five years.

Tip: If you can’t stop worrying, you could write down your worries in a journal. Then put the journal away to help you stop worrying.

8. Give yourself time to learn to be positive.

At first, it will be difficult to keep positive thoughts. It is natural to have negative thoughts. However, it can be helpful to focus on positive thoughts by intentionally confronting your negative thoughts. Recognize them, reject them and replace them with more positive things. With practice, you will become more positive.

  • For example, you may find yourself thinking, “I’m working so hard, but I’m not getting anywhere.” Stop for a moment and think about why that thought came up. Next, make a list of the positive things that have happened to you while you’ve been working toward your goals, such as new things you’ve learned or new experiences you’ve had. Finally, choose to see something positive about the situation you are concerned about. You might say to yourself, “I am getting better and better and I am proud of my progress.”
  • After a while, the positive thoughts you force yourself to have consciously will settle into your subconscious and you will think positively automatically.
